American Heart Month The American Heart Association works with the administration to draft and sign this annual proclamation. During American Heart Month, thousands of our volunteers visit their neighbors. Their goal is to raise funds for research and education and pass along information about heart disease and stroke. To learn more about the American Heart Association, see our Annual Report.
Cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, are our nation's No. 1 killer. To urge Americans to join the battle against these diseases, since 1963 Congress has required the president to proclaim February "American Heart Month." (Note this is not "Heart Month" or "National Heart Month.")

http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/educational/hearttruth/http://www.healthfinder.gov/nho/nho.aspDid you ever wonder why Vitamin D is paired with so many other Vitamins? Well here is some information that I found:
Vitamin D works in concert with other nutrients and hormones in your body to support healthy bone renewal — an ongoing process of mineralization and demineralization which, when awry, shows up as rickets in children and osteomalacia (“soft bones”) or osteoporosis (“porous bones”) in adults.
Where does Vitamin D come from?
Your body can’t create vitamin D on its own. Instead, it’s designed to make it through sun exposure. In theory, you can make an ample supply of vitamin D with as little as a couple of hours per week in the sun — provided the UVB rays are strong enough. You can also ingest vitamin D through food, especially fatty fish like wild–harvested salmon. Plus, lots of foods are fortified nowadays, so vitamin D deficiency should be an easy problem to solve, right? But the truth is, we’re just not getting enough, and so many of us aren’t even close.

A good friend sent me this note. It's been said that God firs separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish.... all before making a human. he made and provided what we'd need before we were born. these are best and more powerful when eaten raw....
I also found the exact same thing in Healthy Inside magazine........

A sliced carrot looks like the human eye. the pupil, iris and radioating lines look just like the human eye...and yes, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes. Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which the body converst to vitamin A. Your eyes need A to maintain the health of cells in your corneas, the transparent tissue that covers the eye and protects it from germs, dust, inflammation and infection.
The Tomatoe has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food. Grapes hang in clusters that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all the research today shows grapes are also profound hear and blood vitalizing food. Red and purple grapes (along with other dark fruits and vegetables) contain flavonoids, which experts say protect against disease, as well as cancer and brain-aging. A recent study from the University of Michigan also found that the heartshaped clusters of fruit may help control blood pressures.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function. Walnuts are essential to cognitive performance, memory, and nerve health.
Kidney beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, rhubarb and many more look just like bones! These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body. Bok Choy is an excellent source of calcium, a mineral that's essential for keeping bones strong and dense. Rhubarb is rich in vitamin K, which helps activate three proteins involved in bone health and increases bone-mineral density.
Avocadoes, eggplant and pears taget the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female-they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. and how profound it this? It takes exactly nine months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries. An italian study found that women whose diets included a lot of olive oil had 30 percent lower risk of ovarian cancer. The reasons are unclear, but the healthy fats in the oil may help suppress genes predisposed to cancer.
Melons and cirtus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of the lymph in and out of the breasts. Oranges and melons are rich in immune-boosting vitamin C and some studies indicate that a C-heavy diet (from food, not supplements) helps prevent breast cancer.
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the gycemic index of diabetics. They release sugars gradually into the blood stream. That means they don't stress the organ.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste matierial from all the body cells. They even produce tears wheich was the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, the garlic also helps eliminate waste materials and dagnerous free radicals from teh body.
I hope you found this as intriguing as I did!
I grew up in a time when all the "allergy" symptoms went away during the summer. Other then the occasional runny nose when mowing the lawn...it was all gone! It seems now that no matter what there are so many allergens making me sniffle.
Here are some symptoms of summer allergies:
If you have experienced these symptoms I encourage you to talk to your family Doctor. There may be alternatives to pills that they could suggest and if your symptoms are bad enough you may need prescription meds.
One home remedy is to eat the honey that is produced locally. I am an advocate for that, but its not for everyone so check with your physician first!
